Karim City College hosts Vintage to Modern Camera Exhibition

Jamshedpur: On the occasion of World Camera Day (June 29), the Department of Mass Communication at Karim City College organized a special Camera Exhibition to showcase the evolution of camera technology over the past three decades. The event displayed 20 different types of cameras ranging from analog to digital formats, offering students a hands-on learning experience.

The exhibition included iconic models such as U-Matic, SVHS, Hi-8, Digital-8, Mini DV, 3CCD DV Cam, NX Digital Cameras and the latest mirrorless cameras. The technological transition from cassette and floppy-based storage to the digital age was explained in an engaging session by senior faculty member Mr. Anjani Kumar Sahay.

The exhibition was inaugurated by college trustee Syed Athar Karim and Principal Dr. Mohammad Reyaz. Expressing pride in the department’s 30-year journey, they congratulated students and faculty on their achievements. The Principal also announced the purchase of a modern camera, much to the delight of the department.

Department Head Dr. Neha Tiwari welcomed the guests and explained the objective behind the exhibition. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Semester 3 students. Syed Sajid and Syed Shahzaib played key roles in organizing the display. Faculty members Dr. Rashmi Kumari and Shazia Parveen were also present. Plans were also announced to organize a photography exhibition in the near future.
