Jamshedpur, Aug 25: Kurmi Sena is going to organize Karam Mahotsava at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, on 8th September. Lalchand Mahato and his team would present Karam song and Jhumar music on this occasion. A waterproof tent is being erected at the venue in view of the rainy season, said organizers.
The dignitaries invited to the event include Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda and national vice president of Janata Dal (U) Prashant Kishore.
In view of the event, Kurmi Sena members held a meeting in Sakchi. The meeting was chaired by the central president of the outfit Shailendra Mahato. He said the purpose of the event was to keep the tribals united, fight for �Jal, Jungle and Zameen� and spread the message of environment conservation.
The organizers said 1500 fruit saplings would be distributed among the guests and visitors during the programme to make people aware about their duty to conserve the environment.
Others present during the meeting included Manikchandra Mahato, Jagannath Mahato, Susen Mahato, Varun Mahato and Saroj Mahato.
