Jamshedpur, Aug 25: Mango residents are reeling under continuous power cuts and load-shedding for the last few weeks. In Munshi Mohulla, the power supply from feeder is shut since yesterday. In Prahladnagar at Post Office Road, power supply was hampered due to excess load on the sole transformer in the locality, sources said.
Members of Mango Vikas Samiti said they were trying to get the defunct transformer replaced. Yesterday, power supply to various localities remained affected throughout the day. In the evening, the supply was restored, but only for a few hours, after which power went off.
Local residents said irregular power supply has taken a toll on their daily affairs, especially water supply to the households. When one of the residents called the junior engineer of electricity department for Mango at night and asked as to when would the supply be restored, they were reportedly advised to keep looking at the fan till the supply resumes.
