Karam Mahotsav at Jamshedpur’s Gopal Maidan today, Ministers and MPs to attend

Jamshedpur, August 30: The Kurmi Sena will host Karam Mahotsav on Sunday, August 31, at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur, showcasing the vibrant traditions and culture of Jharkhand. Preparations for the event have reached the final stage, with a variety of cultural and religious programs scheduled.

The celebration will begin at 2 PM with a magic show by renowned magician Kingshuk Mukherjee of Kolkata. This will be followed by cultural performances from 3 PM, including Jhumar songs by Pihu Rani Mahato of Kharagpur, West Bengal. From 4 PM onwards, artists from Jharkhand and Odisha will present traditional dance and music performances.

The main event will feature the worship of the Karam tree branch, honoring tribal traditions, along with the felicitation of distinguished guests. As part of the ceremony, fruit plants will also be distributed to spread environmental awareness.

Chief Guest, Shravan Kumar, Bihar’s Rural Development Minister, will grace the occasion, alongside West Bengal Minister Srikant Mahato, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy, and Dumri MLA Tiger Jairam Mahato. Kurmi leaders will also be honored with the title of ‘Kurmi Ratna.’

Preparations were being supervised by Kurmi Sena leaders including Shailendra Mahato, Nepal Mahato, Somnath Mahato, Ganesh Gope, Haradhan, Prabir Mahato, Vijay Mahato, and others.
