Kamgar Union seeks minimum daily wages, writes to DC

Seraikela: Members of Jharkhand General Kamgar Union have written to the deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Ramesh Gholap, to demand payment of minimum daily wages as fixed by the state government to all workers engaged in a construction work in Barasegoi village of Kuchai block in Seraikela-Kharsawan.

In the letter, the district secretary of the union Man Singh Tiriya alleged that the workers engaged in the construction of Model Ashram Residential High School in Birhor Colony in the said village were not being given the minimum daily wages as made mandatory by the state government.

Tiriya said the district administration should take urgent notice of the alleged violations of minimum wages rules and ensure that the contractor complies with government orders on the said issue.

Copies of the letter have also been set to the Chief Secretary, Labour Secretary, Commissioner of Kolhan, Labour Commissioner of Jharkhand, Deputy Labour Commissioner of Jamshedpur and the SDO of Seraikela-Kharsawan.
