Jamshedpur, Nov. 25: Kamani Group, which is currently running three schools in the steel city, plans to open three new ICSE schools in Adityapur, Mango and in the state capital Ranchi.
�We are planning to open three new schools in the name of our grandfather Narbheram Hansraj Kamani for which we have sent proposals for land to Government of Jharkhand and as the formalities are complete construction work will start soon,� said Nakul Kamani, grandson of Narbheram Hansraj Kamani and president of Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) Society.
Talking to the media persons after unveiling the bust of Narbheram Hansraj Kamani on centenary year of his grandfather�s coming to Jamshedpur, at NHES premises on Wednesday morning, Nakul said, �Currently we are running Gujarati medium school started in 1940, D N Kamani Hindi School, which was started in 1960, and NHES English School set up in the year 1988.
NHES students have been 100 percent successful in ICSE and ISC examination during the last seven years. This prompted Sanjay Kumar, principal secretary to CM invite the school committed to Ranchi for setting up news schools and enter into tie-up with private universities for new colleges in the state.
�There schooling in Jamshedpur is of International standard, but when it comes to life after school we are lagging behind. The new Jharkhand government has given proposals for tie up with private universities in the state and this will help students who opt to leave Jharkhand after class 12,�Nakul added.
Talking about Narbheram Hansraj Kamani, Nakul said, �My grandfather arrived in Jamshedpur in 1915 and was second only to Tata�s to set up a business empire here. On his 123th birth anniversary we have a daylong celebration for the man who was deeply committed to social and religious causes.
He established Gujarati Samaj as well as Jain Samaj in the city. Coming from Gujarat, Narbheram kamani invited more and more families, put them up in his own house, gave them job in his company and adjust to the scenario and climate of Jamshedpur�.
An illustrated book on the life of Narbheram Kamani was unveiled by TV Narendran, managing director, Tata Steel. Principal secretary Sanjay Kumar gifted a �Family tree� tracing the roots of Narbheram Kamani and his forefathers stretching to his great grand children, spanning over nine generations, to all family members from Jamshedpur, Gujarat and Mumbai.
The celebrations concluded with a skit depicting the life of Narbheram Hansraj Kamani.
