Jamshedpur, Feb. 27: Professor U.C. Srivastava from Allahabad University and Secretary National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) Allahabad gave away the �Best Science Teacher Award-2017 for Jamshedpur Region� to Ms. K. Jaishree of JUSCO School South Park, Bistupur and Ms. Sahana of Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco.
The award has been sponsored by Jharkhand State Chapter of NASI. The teachers received Rs. 10000 each and citation. The teachers were felicitated during the National Science Day celebration at CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory on Monday, February 27.
Ms. K. Jaishree, a PGT, Senior School Coordinator at JUSCO School South Park, Bistupur, Jamshedpur. She has motivated students through her innovative “Fun Do Science” Teaching, involving making of simple toys based on strong scientific concepts and virtual laboratories. Besides teaching, her efforts on science popularization have also been recognized by various forums including Central Board of Secondary Education.
Ms. Sahana, a PGT, Biotechnology & Biology, of Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco, Jamshedpur. She has motivated students to see “out of the box” solutions and encourage students towards promoting conservation of natural resources and sustainable development.
Her endeavors have already been recognized by different educational forums, including Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
