Jamshedpur Women’s University hosts “Money Matters” Workshop

Jamshedpur: The Department of MBA at Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) successfully organized a high-impact finance workshop titled “MONEY MATTERS” on February 25. Held at Hotel Alcor in Bistupur, the event provided students with vital insights into the world of personal finance and investment.

The workshop was held under the visionary leadership of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta, as part of the university’s commitment to practical professional development.

Practical Insights into Mutual Funds and Planning

The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) conducted the session to bridge the gap between academic theory and financial reality. Mr. Amitabh Prakash, Cluster Head for the Jharkhand and North East Region at AMFI, led the session as the keynote speaker.

The program covered several critical financial topics:

  • Mutual Fund Basics: Understanding the structure and types of funds.
  • Risk-Return Analysis: How to evaluate investment performance against potential risks.
  • Long-Term Planning: Strategies for sustainable wealth creation.
  • Investment Strategies: Practical approaches to personal finance management.

Strong Participation from Management Department

Approximately 50 management students from the MBA and BBA departments attended the workshop. The students engaged in interactive sessions, gaining in-depth practical insights that will serve them in their future professional and personal lives.

Accompanying the students were senior MBA faculty members, including Dr. Sweta Prasad, Dr. Keya Banerjee, and Dr. Bharti Varshney. The faculty emphasized that such industry-aligned workshops are essential for preparing students for the complexities of the modern financial landscape.

A Step Toward Financial Independence

By collaborating with AMFI, Jamshedpur Women’s University continues to prioritize financial literacy for its students. Mr. Amitabh Prakash encouraged the students to start their investment journeys early, highlighting the power of disciplined financial planning.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students clarified doubts regarding market volatility and the diversification of investment portfolios.
