Youth Exchange Delegation Showcases Culture at Lok Bhavan
Jamshedpur: On the seventh day of the Ashtalakshmi Darshan – Youth Exchange Program, participants visited Lok Bhavan in Itanagar and paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lieutenant General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik.
During the meeting, Team Jharkhand presented the Governor with a Sohrai art painting, a picture of Baba Baidyanath Dham, and a copy of the book Living- in Relationship: Navigating the New Norms of Modern Partnership authored by Dr. Tripura Jha.
The program also featured vibrant cultural performances reflecting India’s unity in diversity. Mondrita Chatterjee from Team Jharkhand delivered an impressive Kathak dance performance, highlighting Jharkhand’s rich cultural heritage and the importance of Jamshedpur as the steel city.
In the interactive session, Mondrita spoke about the role of culture in the age of globalization and how young people can balance tradition with modernity. The Governor stressed the importance of embracing innovation and progress while preserving cultural roots.
Another participant, Deepak Ram, raised questions about protecting forests, rivers, and wildlife in Arunachal Pradesh while promoting development. The Governor underlined the need for environmentally sensitive growth, community participation, and cooperation between tribal-dominated states like Jharkhand and Arunachal Pradesh for sustainable development.
