JVM plans agitation for flyover

Jamshedpur, May 27: A delegation of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) headed by Abhay Singh today met District Commissioner, Dr. Amitabh Kaushal and submitted a memorandum demanding improvement in the transport system of the city and construction of flyovers in order to decrease the road accidents and smooth driving in Jamshedpur.

Talking to the scribes, Abhay Singh said the main problem which the city is facing is road accidents, according to the information we got from district administration according to RTI is that in the last 8 years more than 900 people have lost their life in road accidents.

Abhay Singh said the number of trucks and other heavy vehicles had gone up in the city in the last several years. Now the situation had worsened due to limited roads and space in the city. This calls for prompt measures to provide relief to the people by building more roads and flyovers in the city, he said.

The JVM leader said the people of the city wanted the district administration to do justice to them. He said the corporate houses should also understand their responsibility.

He said party activists and senior leaders will take to the streets on June 1 for construction of Flyovers in the city as early as possible.

On June 1 mega torch light procession would be taken out from Agrico Football ground till Sakchi round about later we will protest at Traffic P.S in Bistupur and near DC and SP office of the city, added Singh.
