JVM (P) to hold extensive agitation against horse-trading: Marandi

Ranchi: JVM (P) president Babulal Marandi has demanded a high-level inquiry over BJP’s move to inflict defection in opposition parties through a highcourt judge.

Marandi submitted a memorandum to secretary of the Governor in his absence at Raj Bhavan here today. The party dele- gation accompanied Marandi included JVM (P) leader Pradip Yadav, former legislator, Laxman Swarnkar, senior leader KK Poddar, Sunil Sahu, Ramesh Sahi and Santosh Kumar.

Babulal Marandi said that amendments should be made in anti-defection law to put a break on defections of the legislators. He said that the BJP is trying to entice the opposition legislators through money and promise of government posts.

The democratic institutions are being tarnished due to such unconstitutional practices, he said. Marandi demanded that a committee headed by a high-court judgeto investigate allegations of horse-trading being perpetrated by the BJP.

The JVM (P) in the mean- time has announced that it would observe black day on February 11 against attempts to buy JVM (P) legislators through enticements.
