Jamshedpur: The activists of JVM led by district president Firoz Khan demonstrated at the district collectorate. They protested against traffic chaos created by auto-rickshaws and private buses near Sakchi Jama Masjid roundabout.
We are here to demand traffic to be streamline. Commuters are suffering from traffic snarls due to the close presence of Sakchi bus terminus (for private town buses) and Sakchi-Bistupur-Jugsalai We have asked the district administration to relocate the private town buses terminus and auto-rickshaw stand, said Firoz Khan.
The JVM activists were also irate over large number of illegal auto-rickshaw operators running on the roads in city which are eating into the profit of the legal auto-rickshaw operators and also leading to traffic congestions on city roads.
We have also demanded for stopping new registration of auto-rickshaws in city areas from the district transport office as the auto-rickshaws get registration from the transport office despite getting permit for Chandil, Potka and Ghatshila and operate in the city., said Firoz Khan.
East Singhbhum deputy commissioner, Amitabh Kaushal said that the administration will look into their complaint on traffic chaos.
