Jamshedpur, April 22: JUSCO School in Kadma marked Earth Day on April 22, 2024, with a series of impactful activities aimed at promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation. Held at the Kudy Mahanty Auditorium, the event focused on raising awareness about the importance of preserving the planet and its resources.
Under the theme ‘Planet Vs Plastic,’ the celebration commenced with a Cycle Rally led by students of Stds IX and XII, spreading the message of maintaining a green and clean Earth. They visited neighboring schools including KPS Kadma, Baldwin School, and DBMS Kadma High School, presenting saplings to the Principals and reaffirming their commitment to Earth’s preservation.

At the auditorium, the program began with the lighting of the lamp by Jhumjhumi Nandi, Principal of JUSCO School Kadma, followed by a cultural program. Students took an oath to honor Mother Earth, showcasing their dedication through song and dance performances reflecting the essence of environmental stewardship. A video highlighting the importance of keeping the Earth green and clean was also presented.
Prizes were awarded to students who excelled in various competitions held to commemorate the occasion. Principal Jhumjhumi Nandi delivered a motivating speech, emphasizing the significance of reducing plastic usage and recycling waste. She encouraged students to take proactive steps in making the Earth a cleaner and greener place for all living beings.
The Earth Day celebration was organized by the Eco Club, with the support of Vice Principal Anindita Roy, Senior School Coordinator Qamar Ali, and Junior School Coordinator Seema Tiwary.
