Jamshedpur, Jan 22: JUSCO has begun providing water supply connections to the residents of 86 bustees in the steel city from May 2015 under the on-going water supply scheme. Out of 4500 planned connections, JUSCO has already provided more than 2200 house service connection.
Saryu Rai, Jharkhand minister for parliamentary affairs, and food and supply separtment, inaugurated the first water connection service at Beldihgram in C. H. Area on Friday. A total of around 300 house connections are required in this area, which will be completed by March 2016.
Sunil Bhaskaran, V-P (Corporate Services), Tata Steel, Ashish Mathur, MD, JUSCO, Chandrashekhar Mishra, president, Bustee Vikas Samiti, Nandji Prasad, district president BJP, Capt. Dhananjay Mishra, Sr. GM (JTO), JUSCO, R K Singh from Water Management Department, Arvind Sinha from administration & liaison, JUSCO, senior citizens, workers� union representatives, residents of Beldihgram and others were present on the occasion.
JUSCO�s plan to provide water connections will continue further and will cover Hume pipe bustee, Shayam Nagar, Lakri Tal, Nand Nagar Carriage colony where laying of distribution network is under progress, a press communiqu� issued by the utility services company stated.
Sunil Bhaskaran commented that Tata Steel is committed to development of local communities and will continue to work relentlessly for the same through its several social initiatives be it in the field of water management, environment, solid waste management or education etc.
Commenting on the occasion the chief guest for the evening, Rai said, �All government, public and private agencies have developed a very nice understanding and I am pleased to see the government agencies working in a synchronized manner with Tata Steel and JUSCO, towards development of the communities.�
