Jugsalai Nagar Parishad Launches Digital Census 2027 Drive

Jamshedpur: Jugsalai Nagar Parishad Chairperson Nausheen Khan launched a public awareness campaign for Census 2027 on Saturday. Leading by example, the Chairperson, alongside Vice-Chairpersons Archana Dubey and Neha Singh, completed their own self-enumeration through official digital platforms to demonstrate the ease of the process.

Promoting Digital Participation

Chairperson Nausheen Khan urged residents to take advantage of the self-enumeration facility, which allows citizens to fill in their census details using smartphones or laptops. She emphasized that independent digital participation ensures transparency, reduces errors, and speeds up the national data collection exercise.

Training and Field Operations

The launch coincided with the ongoing three-day training program for the third batch of enumerators and supervisors. These personnel are tasked with the first phase of Census 2027—House Listing and Housing Census (HLO).

Addressing the trainees, the Chairperson stressed the importance of “honesty and integrity” in fieldwork and directed them to collaborate closely with Ward Councilors to resolve any local logistical challenges.

How to Self-Enumerate: Key Steps

Authorities provided a step-by-step guide for residents to complete the process online:

• Registration: Sign up on the official portal using a mobile number and verify via OTP.

• Location Mapping: Select the district and ward, and mark the residential location on a digital map.

• Data Entry: Fill in family information and verify all details carefully, as entries cannot be modified after final submission.

• SE ID Generation: Generate and save the 11-digit Self-Enumeration (SE) ID, which must be presented to field enumerators during their verification visits.

The Nagar Parishad plans to continue ward-level awareness campaigns to ensure Jamshedpur achieves maximum participation in the digital census.
