Jamshedpur, May 18: The Sub-Divisional Officer of Dhalbhum in compliance with the instructions of the Co-Executive Officer of Jugsalai Municipal Council has commenced a comprehensive cleaning operation of major and minor drains within the municipal limits in anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season. This proactive measure aims to ensure proper drainage and mitigate the risk of water-logging during heavy rainfall.
The cleaning work of large drains began on May 18, 2023 and the cleaning of small drains has already been completed on Shiv Ghat Road and Station Road. Additionally, daily cleaning of all community and public toilets under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Council is being diligently carried out. Furthermore, efforts are being made to facilitate night cleaning and garbage collection.
The Jugsalai Municipal Council emphasized that it was strictly forbidden to dispose off garbage in public spaces, throw cow dung in public areas or discharge it into drains. Such actions are punishable offenses under the Municipal Act 2011. In light of this, all citizens have been urged to hand over the waste generated from their residential and commercial establishments, shops, and institutions to the authorized door-to-door garbage collectors appointed by the Jugsalai Municipal Council.
