Jamshedpur, Jan 6: Jugsalai Municipality has begun preparation for the annual Swachh Survekshan 2021 as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission (urban) scheme.
Following order of the local urban body, walls of roundabouts and important lands are being painted with Sohrai art to spread awareness message on cleanliness and other social issues like not using plastics for environment etc aiming to spread awareness and also make the walls clean and beautiful to impress the surveyors during field verification visit.
Some of the topics used in Sohrai painting is aimed at creating awareness on segregation of dry, wet waste and sanitary waste and to collect them in separate colour coded bins and use the wet waste as compost in the house only, construction of septic tanks, proper manner of disposing of used masks and complete prohibition on use of single-use plastics at any cost.
Messages and hoardings are also placed on use of Swachhata app to give feedbacks on the cleanliness in and around their locality to improve ranking of the Jugsalai Municipality at the annual survey, cleaning septic tanks after an interval of every three years, using three colour coded bins, encouraging masses against using thermocol plates during picnic and gathering, not consuming tobacco products and stress on plantation of saplings and trees for a better environment.
