Jubilee Park illuminated for Founder’s Day celebrations

Jamshedpur, March 2: The illuminations lighted up the entire Jubilee Park on Wednesday, March 2 until March 5. On the same scale as the old illuminations, organizers are expecting tens of thousands of visitors on the three-days.

The pleasant visual treats decorated to mark 177th birth anniversary of Tata Steel founder J N Tata was inaugurated by Tata Sons director, Ishat Hussain. Jusco added zing to Founder’s Day celebrations that kicked off at Jubilee Park with the novelty troika of beam lights, backlit sky balloon and laser show.

Dazzling decoration of the interior and exterior of the park evoked overwhelming response of the crowd on the inaugural evening.

Over 1500 electronic display tableaus fitted with LED lights and animated illuminated models integrated with sound system charmed the visitors on the inaugural day. Places within the park such as Jayanti Sarovar, J N Tata statue and Children’s Park, among other sites, were decorated with striking models depicting the values and beliefs of Tata’s. The Sakchi-Boulevard road has been widened and beautified for the Founder’s Day.

Along with the decorative lights base branch illumination and boulevard type small fairy lights covering each part of the tree from trunk to branches are the additional highlights of this year’s Founder’s Day illumination work.

Scrap art display of marine animals made of wood and steel with illumination near Parsi Colony gate which is adjacent to Jubilee Park and present day acrylic art display at the J N Tata Statue inside the park came as big attraction to the restive crowd that waited for several hours to witness the inauguration.

The achievements of the private steel major in the last 100 years since its inception have been aptly reflected through colorful lights models besides, issues such as CSR initiatives and social and environment topics that are close to Tata’s have also been displayed through lighting.

This year, the lights focused on growth chart of Tata Steel. Lights also brought alive typical Tata concerns such as energy conservation and climate change as well as folk lore from life of Tata.

Behind the bright lights were the nimble fingers and imagination of visualizes and light men from Chandannagar, West Bengal.

They have been behind the Founder’s Day show for the past three decades, and this year, they took 45 days to create the magic. One of this year’s most delightful visual treat was the fountain’s myriad hues.

Working models also caught the attraction of visitors. The Jayanti Sarovar played host to nine floats, each depicting activities related to the corporate social responsibility of the Tatas.

There are several models on Tata Steel latest slogans “Zimmedaar Nagrik, Zimmedaar Shaher” values stronger than steel’ and company concerns like energy conservation and climate change. Various events have been lined up to mark the occasion, celebrated in the city as ‘Founder’s Day’. The main event would be organized inside the works on Thursday.

Floral tributes would be paid to the founder and a colorful pageantry at the Tata Steel works main gate would be taken out.

After which pageantry by local organizations, near the Postal Park, Bistupur, would be taken out. Cyrus Mistry will flag off the march. Various organizations like DBMS, Kerela Samajam and Gujarati Sanatan Samaj would participate in the pageantry depicting the contribution of the company to the society.

The city has been decorated with colorful lights and flowers to mark occasion and since it is the centenary year of the steel giant to event is being organized on a large platform.
