JSHSA launches mega health camp drive in remote villages

Dhanbad, April 14: The newly elected body of the Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JSHSA), the representative organization of government doctors in the state, has announced a major health outreach initiative. As part of the plan, JSHSA will organize mega health camps in one remote village of each district across Jharkhand.

JSHSA president Dr. Bimlesh Singh said the initiative began on Sunday in Ranchi district, with a mega health camp held at Chaingarha Panchayat under Budmu block. Specialist doctors from the organization attended the camp, providing free check-ups and distributing medicines to villagers.

“This is part of our resolution to adopt one remote village in each district and bring quality healthcare directly to the people,” said Dr. Singh. He added that it was the first time in 25 years that JSHSA organized a mega health camp in a remote village of Ranchi district entirely on its own.

A team of 10 specialist doctors participated in the camp, conducting screenings for sickle cell disease, blood pressure, and other common ailments. A total of 517 villagers were examined and provided with free medicines. Some patients requiring further treatment were referred to Ranchi Sadar Hospital.

The team of doctors included Dr. Sujit Kashyap (surgery), Dr. Vikash Gupta (physician), Dr. Ravi Raj (dental), Dr. Pritish Praney (eye), Dr. Anshu Toppo (ENT), Dr. Shilpa Tigga (gynaecology), Dr. Mritunjay Singh (paediatrics), Dr. Bimlesh Singh (JSHSA president), Dr. Stiphen Xess (treasurer), and Dr. Tarique Anwar (officer-in-charge, Budmu CHC).

Local leaders also played a key role in organizing the camp. Budmu Panchayat chief Satyanarayan Munda, deputy chief Hardeo Sahu, district board member Manoj Bajpayee, Ramjeet Ganjhu, and Mukhia Deviyanti Devi provided significant support.

Dr. Singh confirmed that similar camps would be held in other districts in the coming weeks as part of the association’s ongoing commitment to rural healthcare.
