Jamshedpur, September 1: Jharkhand State Cricket Association(JSCA) which selected 46 players for the U-16 camp started the camp at Birsa Munda Stadium in Chaibasa.
On the basis of performance in previous season domestic tournaments especially in JSCA Inter District U-16 & U-14, the players have been shortlisted.
There are altogether 46 players in the camp out of which maximum 10 are from Jamshedpur. The camp is running in two sessions in which basic focus in the initial stage is on fitness and mental toughness. There are four players in the camp who were part of the state U-16 team in the last season.
They are Aditya Singh, Vishwajeet Singh, Raushan Kumar and Nikhil Raj. The players are getting their training under the guidance of Coach- Vikas Kumar (Dhanbad), Trainer: Musam Kumar and Assistant Anup Burman both from Chaibasa.
It is important here to note that JSCA U-16 team is going to play its first match in the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2014-15 at the same venue where camp is going on i.e. at Birsa Munda Cricket Stadium, Chaibasa from 10-12 October 2014 against Tripura.
Keeping in view of BCCI match JSCA has selected Chaibasa as Camp venue for U-16 so that players can become familiar with the ground & wicket conditions.
