JPS students visit Leprosy home

Jamshedpur, Oct 8: The members of the Interact Club of Jamshedpur Public School visited the Gandhi Ashram (Leprosy Ashram), Baradwari on Thursday, October 8.

The students including K.V.S. Goutam – President, Nikita – Vice President, Raman – Secretary, Zikra – Vice Secretary, Priya & Ankita – Treasurer and other Interactors of class X , XI & XII were part of the visting team. They were accompanied by the teacher moderator Dr. Punam Kumari and Mr. Stephen.

Students donated various useful items to the leprosy patients including potatoes, rice, dal, biscuit, tea, soap, notebooks and toothpaste etc. Seeing their condition tears rolled down the cheeks of the students. They saw that the life of the inmates was full of struggle.

They had to endure so much pain to lead their lives. Students spent time with them. It was a learning experience talking to them about their daily life and the problems faced by them.

They shared their feelings with the students. The children present there were also given cakes.

This noble act of helping the leprosy patients has helped the students to realise that they are blessed to be able to lead a healthy life & to be able to get a good education.
