Jamshedpur, August 17: Safety is an important aspect of our life and a habit that needs to be inculcated in all.
Keeping this in mind Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) organized KAVACH an inter-school safety fest that addressed several aspects of safety. 15 Jamshedpur schools participated in the fest.
Series of events including On stage and Of stage were held during the day long fest at KSMS auditorium on Wednesday, August 17. Jamshedpur Public School (JPS) students put up an extraordinary performance winning most of the events and were adjudged the overall champion of the fest.
On Stage events included- Kudrat Ke Rang…Fashion Ke Sang (Ramp walk) with the theme: Environment Safety. 8 – 10 students of classes 9 to 12 participated were the time alloted was 10 minutes (including stage setting). Vig English School was adjudged the winner followed by Sacred Heart Convent and Loyola School.
In Rhyme and Rhythm (Jingle)- the topic was given 10 minutes before the event were 1 student participated from each class 9 to 12.
The total time allotted was 5 minutes. KPS mango won the contest, Loyola School came second while Narbehram Hansraj English School was third. The third on stage event was Gungunata Chal�Surakshit Kal (Group Song) were theme was Safety (any aspect) and included 8 participants from classes 9 to 12.
They were allotted 3 minutes + 2 minutes (for setting). Narbehram Hansraj English School won the event followed by Tarapore School and Hill Top School.
The fourth event was Rahen Aur Bhi Hain (Nukkad Natak) were the theme was Raahen Aur Bhi Hain. The participants were 6 � 8 of classes 9 to 12 and the time allotted was 5 minutes.
The winner of the event was Tarapore School, Agrico, Hill Top School came second while Jamshedpur Public School was adjudged third.
The last on stage event was Expressions (Dance) with the theme Emotional Safety which included 6 � 8 participants of classes 7 to 12 with total time of 5 minutes (including stage setting). DAV Bistupur was declared the winner, KPS Mango was second while Loyola School came third.
After the completion of on stage event it was time for the off stage events which included Shoot Across The Sky (Slogan Writing) with the theme: Personal Safety.
A team of 2 students of classes 9 to 12 participated with time of 30 minutes. Beldih Church School emerged as the winner followed by DAV Bistupur and Tarapore School Agrico.
The second off stage event was Design Your Thoughts (Eco Friendly Rangoli Making) with the theme Save Environment. A team of 2 students from classes 7 to 12 participated with total time of 1 hour.
Jamshedpur Public School was crowned the winner of the event, Narbehram Hansraj English School was runner-up while Vig English School came third.
The third off stage event was Hero � Hiralal (Helmet Painting ) with theme Road Safety. A team of 2 students from classes 9 to 12 participated with total time of 30 minutes. Jamshedpur Public School was again adjudged the winner followed by DAV Bistupur and Gulmohur High School.
The fourth and the last off stage event was Brains and Brushes (Pictorial depiction of Road Safety) with the theme Road Safety. 1 student per school participated for classes up to 6 with total time allotted was 45 minutes.
The winner of the event was Jamshedpur Public School followed by Narbheram Hansraj English School and Hill Top School. The fest concluded at 2.30 pm. Earlier, the fest was inaugurated by Nandini Shukla, Principal of KSMS at 8.30 am.
