Seraikela, Jan 2: A shocking incident of violence came to light in Adityapur under the Adityapur police station area, where journalist Ankit Shubham and his family members were allegedly attacked with intent to kill by members of Subhash Yadav’s family.
The incident occurred around 11:30 am in Hariom Nagar, leaving Ankit Shubham and his relatives seriously injured.
According to Ankit Shubham’s father, the attackers surrounded his son and assaulted him mercilessly despite repeated attempts by family members to intervene. The assailants allegedly beat Ankit so badly that he was left bleeding profusely.
In a particularly serious allegation, the attackers also attempted to run over him with a four-wheeler, but he was saved due to the timely intervention of local residents.
The family further alleged that after the assault, an attempt was made to snatch Ankit Shubham’s gold chain.
Local residents stated that Subhash Yadav’s house is located at the far end of the locality, where a minor argument had erupted over vehicle parking.
Following this, Subhash Yadav reportedly called his relatives, who then entered Ankit Shubham’s house armed with sticks and brutally assaulted his father, mother, and sister, causing serious injuries.
Residents also accused Subhash Yadav of frequently misbehaving with people in the area and alleged that he often damages or overturns vehicles parked on the road as per his own will.
Meanwhile, the police stated that the incident stemmed from a dispute over parking, after which some individuals resorted to violence.
Ankit Shubham reportedly sustained severe injuries, including heavy bleeding from the nose.
The Adityapur (Station In-charge) assured that the accused would not be spared under any circumstances.
An investigation has been initiated based on a written complaint, and police confirmed that CCTV cameras installed near the spot will be examined as part of the probe.
