Jamshedpur: Central in-charge and Joint Secretary, Government of India, Mahavir Prasad, on Thursday, conducted an extensive review of East Singhbhum’s performance under the Aspirational District Program. The meeting, held at the Collectorate Auditorium on the first day of his three-day visit, focused on key indicators across health, nutrition, education, agriculture, water resources, skill development, financial inclusion, and infrastructure.
Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhagirath Prasad, Director NEP Santosh Garg, ADM SOR Rahul G Anand, and officials from various departments presented detailed reports on the district’s indicator-wise progress. The Joint Secretary examined the ground-level implementation of major government schemes and offered necessary directives. He also directed the East Singhbhum district administration officials to strengthen outreach, enhance transparency, and prioritize citizen welfare in all departmental efforts.
Officials of the district administration highlighted several innovative, people-centric initiatives that are being implemented. They also made a detailed presentation on the extensive survey of the Sabar community, covering their socio-economic condition, access to welfare schemes, and efforts to improve their quality of life.
Under Mission Ullas, the district administration has been offering free screening, specialist consultation, and medicines to epilepsy patients, ensuring accessible and continuous care. The Sikui-Dikui campaign, aimed at enhancing the quality of education and reducing student dropouts, was also reviewed. Officials shared progress on improving attendance, strengthening learning outcomes, and increasing community-level awareness.
Appreciating the initiatives and field-level efforts, Prasad said East Singhbhum is demonstrating strong administrative commitment and innovative thinking. With sustained efforts, he expressed confidence that the district would soon show significant advancement within the Aspirational District framework. He urged officials to work with sensitivity, ensure effective delivery of schemes, and proactively connect eligible citizens with government benefits. “If grassroots implementation is strong, the numbers will follow,” he emphasized.
