Job Fair at Jamshedpur’s RVS College of Engineering on September 24-25

Jamshedpur: A two-day job fair will be held at RVS College of Engineering and Technology on September 24 and 25, 2024, in collaboration with the Board of Practical Training (BOPT), Eastern Region. The event is being organized in response to a letter from Prof. Manish R. Joshi, Secretary of the University Grants Commission, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Dr. Vikram Sharma, Head of Training and Placement at the college, explained that the fair aimed to develop skills among educated youth and provide employment opportunities. Around 40 companies have confirmed their participation, each setting up stalls on the college campus. Representatives will conduct interviews, and selected candidates will be offered skill development and training opportunities, with potential for employment at the same or other companies upon completion.

Eligible participants include graduates with B. Tech, BCB, BBA, B.Sc., BA, and Diplomas. Notable companies participating in the job fair include Tata Steel Limited, Tata BlueScope Steel Pvt. Ltd., BCCL, Ramkrishna Forgings Limited, IT Scient Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Sparsh Innovators Pvt. Ltd., and several others.

Shatrughan Singh, the college treasurer, is overseeing all arrangements. He anticipates participation from Jharkhand, as well as from Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and other states. A free bus service will run from Dimna Chowk to the college, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and again from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
