JNAC writes to Tata Steel for cleaning 56 big drains in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has written to Tata Steel to clean the 56 big nullahs and drains across the city to prevent water-logging during rains.

Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, JNAC, said he had shot a letter to Tata Steel and its various subsidiary units to clean all major drains in the city. A list of such drains has been sent to the company officials so that the cleaning work may be started soon, he said.

Kumar said several citizens have complained to the Prime Minister�s Office and the Chief Minister�s Office alleging that the drains and nullahs are not regularly cleaned. He said even the public representatives have complained that the drains are not being cleaned properly and regularly.

The MP of Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato asked the JNAC Special Officer to get the large drain in Refugee Colony cleaned in collaboration with the company concerned.
The drains listed by the JNAC are situated in Ramdas Bhatta, Northern Town, Kasidih, Burmamines and Baridih.

The JNAC has also asked JUSCO authorities to get the sluice gates of Dimna dam repaired in time, sources said.
