Jamshedpur, April 14: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) will soon collect holding tax for 1.40 lakh houses situated under its jurisdiction.
This will include houses constructed illegally but will exclude the houses constructed in 300 sq. ft land. With this the illegal houses along with 127 bustis under the notified area will come under tax net. Till date there was no tax recovery from houses in JNAC. The minimum tax will be Rs 50.
Pero Softtech Pvt. Ltd. has been given the responsibility of recovering tax from houses under the JNAC. The notified area has provided a big hall and room in the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Community Hall situated at Sakchi Jail Chowk to the agency as its office space.
The Pero Softtech agency has started installing five computers at its office and the agency will hire around 40 workers for tax collection work.
For the tax collection procession, the distribution of evaluation form has started. On the first day, 100 forms were distributed in Rajendranagar, Sakchi. Along with the holding tax, trade license and water tax will also recovered by Pero Softtech Pvt. Ltd and there will be no pressure on the revenue employees of the notified area.
Arka Mandal, an official of Pero Softtech said, as the office gets fully operational the evaluation form distribution will start in every area. ‘Leaving aside 300 sq. ft. houses, tax will be recovered from every illegal and legal houses’, informed Mandal, adding, ‘Minimum Rs 50 as tax will be collected from slum area houses where the road width is less’.
