Jamshedpur, June 12: All apartments in Jamshedpur are now required to join the door-to-door garbage collection service as part of a citywide initiative to close increasing garbage points. An enforcement team will be formed to monitor and address these issues through physical inspections. This decision was made during a meeting at the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) office on Tuesday, attended by JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, Jusco officials, and contractors.
Key topics discussed in the meeting included obtaining no objection certificates for various development plans, selecting sites for constructing toilets under the 15th Finance Commission, road construction by Tata Steel, renting out the newly constructed DM Library office and commercial complex, water and electricity connections for the Kadma convention center, completing the Moharda water supply scheme, and ensuring regular cleaning of all city drains.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar emphasized the urgent need to construct sewerage treatment plants (STPs) for all major city drains and called for joint physical inspections. Attention was also directed towards accelerating the phased work on the Moharda water supply scheme and completing drain cleaning before the monsoon season.
Attendees included Tata Steel UISL GM Rabindra Kumar Singh, CMD Manoj Singh Shekhawat, Tata Land’s Amit Kumar Singh, Waste Water’s Abhishek Dubey, Jamshedpur NAC’s Assistant Engineer Sanjay Singh, City Manager Christina Kachhap, Junior Engineer Ziaul Haq, Contractor Mukesh Kumar, and Office Assistant Rajesh Roy.
