JNAC to Privatize Maintenance of Sonari and Kadma Parks

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has finalized preparations to outsource the maintenance and revenue management of public parks to private agencies. Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar issued an order to hand over the operations of “Veer Shahid Nirmal Mahto Udyan” in Sonari and the new Shastrinagar park in Kadma to private hands in the first phase of this initiative.

Annual Settlement Targeted Above ₹5 Lakh

JNAC has set the minimum bidding price for both parks. For the Sonari Domuhani park, built at a cost of ₹5.18 crore, the base bid is ₹4 lakh per year. For the Shastrinagar park, constructed for ₹75 lakh, the base bid is ₹1 lakh per year. The one-year contract will be awarded to the highest bidder on February 16 at 5:00 PM at the JNAC office.

Revenue via Ads and Events

The winning agency will earn through entry fees, booking charges for social events, and advertising within the park premises (at rates fixed by JNAC). In return, the agency must manage daily cleaning, lighting, gardening, and structural maintenance.
