JNAC Deputy Municipal Commissioner Inspects Swarnarekha and Domuhani Ghats for Chhath preparations

Jamshedpur, Oct 23: Deputy Municipal Commissioner of the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), Krishna Kumar, conducted an extensive inspection of the model Chhath Ghatslocated along the Swarnarekha River and at Domuhani Sangam Ghat on Thursday.

He reviewed all preparations related to cleanliness, safety, lighting and waste management to ensure a clean and organized environment for devotees during the Chhath festival. The Deputy Municipal Commissioner also drew an inspirational sketch at the site, promoting the message of river conservation and Swachh Bharat. He urged citizens to adopt cleanliness as a shared responsibility, saying, “Ghats are not just places of worship,they are our natural heritage and protecting them is our collective duty.”

City managers, engineers and other staff were present during the inspection. Detailed reviews covered drainage systems, barricading, garbage disposal, drinking water facilities and security measures. Officials were instructed to ensure devotees faced no inconvenience.

Special attention was being given to installing dustbins, improving lighting and placing warning signs near dangerous riverbank areas. JNAC has formed dedicated cleaning and monitoring teams for all major ghats.

Krishna Kumar emphasized, “Cleanliness and safety are our top priorities. It is our responsibility to provide a safe and clean environment for all Chhath devotees.” The proactive inspection aimed to ensure a serene and secure atmosphere for thousands of worshippers during the upcoming festival.
