Jamshedpur FC arrive in Goa for Super Cup

Jamshedpur, October 23: Jamshedpur FC has arrived in Goa ahead of their opening Super Cup clash against FC Goa on October 26. The team, led by Head Coach Steven Dias, will hold their official matchday -1 training session tomorrow as they fine-tune their final preparations for the crucial opener.

The 27-member squad includes a balanced mix of experience and youth, with key foreign players such as Stephen Eze, Lazar Cirkovic, Rei Tachikawa, Madih Talal, Nikola Stojanovic, and Raphael Messi Bouli forming the backbone of the team. Among the Indian contingent, captain Pronay Halder, Vincy Barretto, Germanpreet Singh, Manvir Singh, and Sourav Das bring solidity and energy across the pitch.

Head Coach Steven Dias expressed confidence in his players’ readiness, stating that the team’s unity and work ethic have been their biggest strengths during the buildup. “We have trained hard and the players are mentally and physically ready. Everyone knows how important this competition is, and we’re determined to give our best,” Steven Dias said.

The Men of Steel are placed in Group B alongside FC Goa, NorthEast United FC, and Inter Kashi, with matches scheduled on October 26, 29, and November 1 respectively. After finishing runners-up in the same competition last season, Jamshedpur FC will be looking to go one step further and secure the coveted AFC spot this time around.

Players are mentally and physically ready: Coach Steven Dias

Jamshedpur, October 23: With just days left for their Super Cup opener against FC Goa on October 26, Jamshedpur FC Head Coach Steven Dias is confident in his team’s preparation and mindset. Having spent the past few weeks fine-tuning tactics and building chemistry at Flatlet Ground, Dias believes the squad is ready both mentally and physically to begin their campaign on a strong note.

“I am very happy with how our preparation has gone. The players are mentally and physically ready for this competition,” Steven Dias said. “Every training session has been purposeful, and I can see the hunger and commitment from each and every player.”

The Super Cup marks Steven Dias’ first major tournament in full charge of Jamshedpur FC, and the coach is pleased with the team’s togetherness. “I always believe team unity, both on and off the field, is very important. When players trust and support each other away from the pitch, it shows in their performances on it. I am proud of the togetherness we have built,” he added.

Reflecting on the challenge of facing FC Goa with whom Jamshedpur Fc lost last season’s Super Cup final, Steven Dias acknowledged the test ahead but maintained confidence. “We know FC Goa are a very good side. It won’t be easy, but we are well prepared. I have complete confidence in my players. Our biggest strength is our unity, and we will give everything to make a strong start.”

The coach also praised new signings such as Madih Talal, Raphael Messi Bouli, Nikola and Rosenberg Gabriel for seamlessly integrating into the squad. “Our new players have settled in really well. They are professional, focused, and understand what this tournament means to the club. Everyone is ready to contribute.”

While Steven Dias preferred to keep tactical details under wraps, he promised fans an exciting display of football. “I won’t go into specifics about our playing philosophy, but I can say that the fans will love what they see. We will give our best to bring joy to Jamshedpur and make them proud.”
