Jamshedpur, April 29: A squad of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) cracked down on illegal constructions across the city on Friday. It raided an under-construction building in 36, A Block, Dhatkidih, and stopped the ongoing construction of pillars at the sixth floor of the building by one Mukhtar Ahmad. The JNAC team demolished the pillar with the help of a machine. The officials said the building was sealed twice earlier for deviation from the approved building map. A fine of Rs 2 lakh was imposed on the building owner. Despite this, work was on to construct pillars, sources said.

The JNAC team also demolished a concrete setting at the third floor of a building at Jalebi Line. The building belonging to Hotel Karnail, was sealed twice and a fine of Rs 2 lakh was also imposed on its owners Sarabjeet Singh and Indrajeet Singh earlier. Despite this, the construction of third floor was on in the building, JNAC officials said.
