Jamshedpur: Continuing with the anti-polythene drive, a team of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee conducted a raid at Reid and Taylor and Raymond�s showrooms in Sakchi on Saturday and seized banned plastic bags. The raid was conducted at several other places across the city. A total of Rs 48,200 was collected today in fine from several persons caught with plastic bags.
The JNAC has been conducting raids against polythene for the last several months. It has set a target of making the city polythene-free by 5th June this year.
