Jamshedpur: Even as the state government is preparing for the foundation day celebrations of Jharkhand on 15th November, the proposed rally of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha on the same day is all set to increase its difficulties.
Sources said the JMM leaders of Kolhan are preparing for a grand rally on the foundation day anniversary of Jharkhand. The rally will be held in the city.
A large number of JMM leaders, activists and supporters are expected to attend the rally. Party supremo and former Chief Minister Shibu Soren, his son and former CM Hemant Soren and many other party leaders will also be participating in this event being touted as an occasion for the JMM to show its power and mass support on the issue of CNT and SPT laws.
JMM has called the rally in protest of the proposed amendments in the land laws, the CNT Act and the SPT Act, by the government of Jharkhand led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
It has alleged that the government is trying to encroach upon the rights of Adivasis and Moolvasis by trying to amend the land laws as per its own requirements.
District administration is alert in view of the proposed rally. Taking lessons from the incident of violence in Khunti on the same issues, all districts of the state have been asked to take special care and make adequate preparations for the foundation day celebrations.
JMM leaders will also be demanding formation of Gram Sabha as per PESA Act and declaration of domicile policy by the state government on the basis of the 1932 khatiyan. Sibu Soren, Hemant Soren, Champai Soren and many other party leaders will be addressing the forthcoming rally.
