JMM Saraikela candidate Ganesh Mahali confident of defeating Champai Soren

Seraikela, October 25: The Saraikela Assembly seat has become a focal point in the state elections. After the nominations of BJP candidate Champai Soren and JMM candidate Ganesh Mahali were filed on Friday, enthusiasm surged among party supporters. Mahali, contesting on a JMM ticket after breaking away from the BJP, submitted his nomination papers at the SDO office, flanked by leaders from the Congress Mahagathbandhan.

Following his nomination, Mahali asserted that the Saraikela seat had historically belonged to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and expressed confidence that it would remain with the party this election too. He noted the fervor among JMM workers, predicting their victory. Mahali emphasized that the JMM would JMM will continue to remain in power in the state with support from its coalition partners.

Targeting the incumbent MLA and former Chief Minister Champai Soren, Mahali criticized his 30-year tenure, claiming it had hindered development in the district. He vowed to focus on uplifting Dalits, the oppressed, and tribal communities if elected.

During the nomination process, Mahali was joined by former Baharagora MLA Kunal Sarangi, JMM leaders Ganesh Chaudhary and Krishna Baskey, and Congress State General Secretary Ajay Singh and Debu Chatterjee, among others.

Tensions flared outside the SDO office as BJP and JMM supporters rallied for their candidates, leading to a heated exchange between the two groups. The situation was calmed by police present at the scene.
