JMM questions EC removal of Deoghar SP

Ranchi, April 3: JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya has raised the question of transfer of Deoghar SP Ajit Peter Dungdung in a press conference.

Supriyo Bhattacharya said that this happened because a case was registered against Godda MP Nishikant Dubey in Jasidih police station. But the case registered will not stop with the transfer of SP. He said that Nishikant was earlier the spokesperson of ED and has now become the spokesperson of the Election Commission.

Supriyo said that if such a unilateral decision is taken then questions will be raised on the impartiality of the Election Commission.

In fact, on Tuesday, the Election Commission in Jharkhand took major action and removed Deoghar SP Ajit Peter Dungdung.

The order to remove Deoghar SP was also sent to the government. A panel has also been sought from the state government for the new SP. According to the information, accused Shivdutt Sharma, who is absconding in three cases, had lodged an FIR against MP Nishikant Dubey at Jasidih police station on March 28.

This matter had reached the Election Commission as to how an absconding accused could reach the police station and lodge an FIR. Deoghar SP has been removed from the post in view of many other allegations including sending a disabled person to jail.
