JMM protests against contractor before Collectorate

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leaders staged a demonstration before the Jamshedpur Collectorate on Tuesday to demand action against the contractor who accused Zila Parishad member Hiramani Murmu of assaulting him with slippers in the public.

The agitators alleged that the contractor had leveled fake allegations against Murmu who had raised voice against his involvement in corruption. They said the district administration should not take action against Murmu based on the allegations made by the contractor and demanded that such contractors should be blacklisted.

Leading the agitators, district JMM president Ramdas Soren said the party activists would be compelled to wage a massive agitation in case partiality is shown against the Zila Parishad member. He said only local contractors should be given work in government projects being run in rural areas.
