Chaibasa, Nov. 22: The villager of old Chaibasa under Nimdih Panchayat organized a meeting chaired by Putkar Devgam of the village on Tuesday.
Present at the meeting, BJP leader and Jhinkpani Block�s Tarun Kumar Sawaiyan said, Sadar Chaibasa MLA Deepak Birua evaded the responsibility of the development of Adivasis by resigning from the post of tribal advisory council member .
Tarun asserted that such leader should also resign from the membership of legislative assembly. He accused that JMM never launched their politics for the development of Adivasis and they have always spread rumor of land being taken away by outsiders. JMM is playing petty politics on CNT/SPT land issue.
Tarun added that most of the adivasis land was transferred through SAR court during the ruling of JMM.
He also explained the present form of CNT & SPT Act privileged the Adivasis for the usage of their land only for agriculture purpose whereas the proposed amendment would facilitate legally to utilize their land for business such as opening a marriage hall, hotel and other business purposes without transferring the land rights of ownership of tribal and indigenous people .
But the JMM does want the progress of the tribal and indigenous people to excel their progress in the field of business.
Tarun questioned the Local MLA Deepak Birua can he oppose the land and give back the land which were transferred from the 14 tribal villagers within the surrounding villages of Chaibasa through SAR court and established hundreds of Industries on the agriculture land of Tribal people by outsiders .
He slammed the oppositions for playing politics by befooling the tribals. The meeting was attended by a large number of villagers.
