Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha(JMM) members and supporters organized �halla bol�, a demonstration programme to demand liquor ban in the city and action against criminals, before district police office on Monday.
Leading the demonstrators, Roreya Soren said the police authorities should organize a police public meeting to discuss the flagrant issues related to alcoholism and crime. He alleged that land mafia members and other anti-social elements are often seen in different police stations across the city.
�Police department needs to adopt a sympathetic and changed attitude towards the common man. In Azadnagar, people are being harassed in the name of passport verification. Sand transportation continues from 10 pm till 6 am in Old Purulia Road area. The officials of both Azadnagar and Mango police stations are involved in patronizing the culprits. But sadly, no action has been taken against the guilty so far,� said Soren.
Among others present during the demonstration included Gyan Sagar Prasad, Hari Shankar Prasad, Raju Srivastava and Rajni Das.
