Jamshedpur, Nov 22: Hundreds of villagers of Galudih staged a demonstration against imposition of toll tax before the local toll plaza near Putru village on the National Highway 33 here on Tuesday. Led by the local MLA and JMM leader Ramdas Soren, the protestors said the toll plaza was built on the land of local villagers. Despite acquiring the land from villagers, the authorities concerned are commercializing it, said the protestors.
The protestors said toll tax could not be collected within a periphery of 60 kilometres. They said they would launch a bigger agitation in case toll tax collection was not stopped immediately.
