Demand preference for local youths in company jobs

Jamshedpur, Sept 4: Hundreds of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha members and supporters staged a demonstration before Tata Steel general office gate to demand preference for domiciled residents in company jobs.

Former Jamshedpur MP Suman Mahato, Savita Mahato, wife of former state minister late Sudhir Mahato, Pramod Lal and many other senior party leaders were present during the agitation.

In view of the demonstration, company management had made tight security arrangements. City police was also deputed to keep a watch on the agitators.

Raising slogans, the JMM leaders demanded that no discrimination should be shown in matters of employment and that local people should not be deprived of employment in the company and its various concerns. They said the JMM stood in solidarity with the unemployed youths of the city and other parts of the state. They accused the state government of having turned a deaf ear to the demand for jobs raised by the local youths.
