Ranchi, April 25: JMM has fielded Kalpana Soren, wife of former chief minister Hemant Soren for the Gandey by-election.
Kalpana Soren will file nomination from Gandey on April 29.
Voting is going to be held in Gandey on May 20.
Kalpana Soren has now become an active part of politics. She is continuously addressing meetings one after the other.
Gandey seat of Giridih district has become vacant after the resignation of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed. A notification from the Assembly Secretariat on December 31 said that the public is being informed that the Jharkhand Assembly Speaker has accepted the resignation of Gandey MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed. This seat is vacant from December 31, 2023.
