Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) demands minimum wages for Tata Motors Convoy Drivers. The party district committee headed by JMM district president Mahabir Murmu, senior leader Babar Khan, workers’ representative Dinesh Pandey and others submitted a memorandum to SDO, Dhalbhum in this regard.

In the memorandum the party said that Tata Motors management provides Rs 298 for eight hours to drivers of National Transport Company while gives only Rs 68 to drivers of TTCA.

The party said that several petitions were sent to the SDO office in the past by Telco Convoy Drivers’ Association for a tri-partite talk to resolve the matter, but nothing fruitful emerged out of the issue.

The JMM said that the concerned company management did not follow minimum wages act and is showing step-motherly attitude to Telco Convoy drivers.

The party urged the administration to see to it that drivers working under TTCA get wages on par with what is being disbursed to the National Transport Company drivers.

The party leaders urged the SDO to take sort out the matter at the earliest.
