JMM delegation meets Saryu Rai

Jamshedpur, Nov. 2: Demanding special campaign to add names of people left out of Public distribution scheme, a delegation of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led by Bahragora MLA Kunal Sarangi, today, met state food and civil supplies minister, Saryu Rai.

During the meet, Kunal said, ‘People left out of the scheme should be added while remove those who are not eligible for it. Block level officers should be given work for addition of new names and action should be taken against officers who are involved in anomaly’. MLA added.

Minister Rai asked the delegation that those people who still don’t have their name registered can submit their application to block development officer.

In urban areas, application can be submitted to notified areas and municipality, said MLA, adding that people who have not received their ration cards will surely get it after the panchayat election concludes.

‘People, who are not eligible for the scheme and they have their cards, will be cancelled. Like voter list name adding and canceling, Ration card will also go through the same process twice a year’, said Saryu Rai.

He further informed that, according to the central government, 30 lakh more names would be added to PDS scheme in Jharkhand.

Minister told the JMM delegation that, machines will be put up at all the ration shops that will be linked to Aadhar cards.

JMM delegation included former MLA Ramdas Soren, Raju Giri, Mohan Karmakar, Laltu Mahato, Babar Khan and others.
