Ranchi, November 21: Notwithstanding majority of the pollsters predicting BJP-led NDA coming to power in Jharkhand, JMM has claimed of retaining power with two-third majority and the ruling coalition victory in 59 seats.
Incidentally, only Axis My India predicted JMM and its INDIA block allies retaining power.
On Thursday, JMM central general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya claimed that their government will be formed at the end of the year and predicting two-third majority after counting of the votes on November 23.
“After election some sponsored surveys have come in the media. However as per our internal surveys based on voter’s reactions, BJP account is not going to be opened in 11 districts out of the 24 districts. There will be a tough fight in the remaining districts as well,” said Bhattacharya.
He reiterated that Hemant Soren’s government is making a comeback by winning 59 seats.
Supriyo said, there are 59 such assembly constituencies like Rajmahal, Sarath, Barkatha, Barhi, Barkagaon, Simaria, Bagodar, Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Gomia, Chandankiyari, Sindri, Nirsa, Ghatshila, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur, Saraikela where the candidates of ruling coalition of JMM-Congress-RJD- CPI-ML are winning.
He also said that they would comfortably cross the two-third majority mark of 41.
“After the counting of votes on November 23, our government is going to be formed with a new mandate and public concern. On the basis of the reports received from all the assembly constituencies, our victory is certain on about 59 out of 81 seats,” Bhattacharya added.
The seats in the Santhal Pargana division which they claimed to be winning are Rajmahal, Borio, Barhait, Pakur, Maheshpur, Shikaripara, Nala, Dumka, Jama, Madhupur, Sarath, Deoghar, Poraiyahat, the seats in the North Chotanagpur division are Barkatha, Barhi, Mandu, Simaria, Bagodar, Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Gomia, Bermo, Chandankyari, Sindri, Nirsa and Tundi, the seats in the Kolhan division are Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur West, Ichagarh, Seraikela, Majhgaon, Manoharpur and Chakradharpur, the seats in the South Chotanagpur division are Tamar, Torpa, Khijri, Ranchi, Hatia, Mandar, Sisai, Gumla, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira and the seats in the Palamu division are Manika, Latehar, Daltonganj, Chhatarpur, Hussainabad, Garhwa and Bhawanathpur.
In Kolhan division, there is tough fight in Jamshedpur East and Baharagora, he said.
The JMM leader expressed concern at the decreasing voting in urban areas as compared to rural parts.
“The expectations of the people of the city are higher than those of the village, but when the time to vote comes, they disappear. This is a matter of concern. The intellectuals of city who speak more are the ones who do not vote,” said Bhattacharya.
