JMA brings SYMP and Management Olympiad to Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov. 6: The Jamshedpur Management Association (JMA) is organizing a �Shaping Young Mind Program� (SYMP) on November 9, 2018 at the Tata Auditorium, XLRI. This is the first time that such an event is happening in Jharkhand. The occasion will be graced by Mr. T. V. Narendran, CEO & MD, Tata Steel who will be the Chief Guest.

Notably, SYMP is a flagship event of AIMA (All India Management Association)which is aimed atmeeting the aspirations of the youth including college students and working professionals below 30 years of age . AIMA is the national apex body of management professionals and through the SYMP, it seeks to help young people find the common ground between managing self, choosing a career and finding the right work environment.

Speakers of international repute like Justice Santosh Hegde, former Lokayukta of Karnataka State and former Supreme Court Judge (astrong proponent of probity in public governance), Firdose Vandrevala, former executive Vice Chairman of Essar Steel who has also been associated with various leadership positions in Tata Steel, Tata Power, Motorola will address the gathering.

Other speakers include Raghunath Megde who is President, Nutan Mumbai Tiffin Box Charity (popularly known as Mumbai Dabbawala). This organization has been recognized nationally and internationally for it�s supply chain efficiency and it�s cases are studied in various leading business schools all over the world.

Besides, Richard Rekhy, former Chief Executive Officer of KPMG in India, will also be interacting with the youth of Jamshedpur and sharing his experiences in the Corporate world. In this way, the event would feature speakers from different fields including public domain, corporate world, creative field, media and sports/adventure.

The guests invited for the program have been requested to narrate their personal experiences with a view to conveying lessons from their own lives. The style of speech would be anecdotal, storytelling and coaching; and not preachy or filled with jargon.

The leaders could speak around a big idea that has influenced him/her, mistakes made and lessons learnt. Other issues which would be addressed are what life has taught the individual, how to keep young while growing older, how to develop a management career, how to enjoy a career, the first big success in career, thinking positively about stress, creating a work-life balance, managing ambitions, inculcating the winning spirit and a never say die attitude.
The format of the programme is to have the speaker as well as a panel of eight pre-selected students on the dais.

Apart from invited participants, a provision for spot registration will be kept at the venue between 8 :00 am and 9:00 am on the day of the event.
Target audiences for the programme are 800-1,000 young minds comprising of management students and young management professionals.
