JHRC launches drive against Maggi

Jamshedpur : The Jharkhand Human Rights Conference (JHRC) today launched a campaign against Maggi, a Nestle brand after news spread about it containing high MSG (monosodium glutamate) and high levels of lead.

Members of the JHRC led by president Manoj Mishra today burnt packets of Maggi to mark their protest against unhealthy food products. The members submitted a memorandum at the deputy commissioner’s office demanding tests of the noodles by the Jharkhand government and ban on Maggi in the city.

We have submitted our memorandum at DC office. The JHRC started a campaign against Maggi and the Nestle company which has been fooling customers,” said Mishra.

Mishra and his members said that they will also organise a funeral procession of Maggi which will make its consumers aware about the harmful contents.

The JHRC also plans to organise awareness programmes in different residential colonies for awareness.
