Chaibasa: In a meticulous effort to ensure the seamless execution of the impending Lok Sabha elections, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jharkhand, K. Ravikumar, led a detailed review meeting at the esteemed West Singhbhum District Collectorate meeting room.
The meeting, convened with utmost precision, saw Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar meticulously examining the preparatory measures essential for the forthcoming Lok Sabha General Elections 2024 across three pivotal districts: East Singhbhum, Seraikela Kharsawan, and West Singhbhum. Stressing the paramount importance of adhering to the comprehensive guidelines outlined by the Election Commission of India (ECI), he underscored the imperative for District Election Officers to strive relentlessly towards augmenting the voter-population ratio within their respective jurisdictions, thereby ensuring a comprehensive outreach strategy.
A special emphasis was laid on the provisioning of essential amenities at all polling stations, with particular attention directed towards those situated in remote locales. Regular physical verifications were underscored as imperative to ensure the safe transit of polling parties to and from secure centers. Moreover, Chief Electoral Officer underscored the criticality of efficient vehicle management to mitigate any transportation challenges that citizens might encounter on the day of polling, thereby fostering an environment conducive to fair and transparent elections.
In an endeavor to bolster voter participation, directives were issued to orchestrate voter awareness programs under the ambit of a meticulously crafted sweep plan. Furthermore, proactive monitoring of social media channels was emphasized to combat the dissemination of misinformation, with a dedicated phone line advocated for reporting any instances of fake news.
The seamless execution of webcasting mechanisms was earmarked for continuous monitoring, with specific instructions delineated for enhancing network connectivity in remote polling stations where connectivity posed challenges.
In a parallel assessment, Chief Electoral Officer, alongside State Police Nodal Officer A.V. Homkar, meticulously scrutinized law and order arrangements, reiterating the steadfast commitment towards ensuring elections free from fear, intimidation, or undue influence.
Post the comprehensive review, Chief Electoral Officer engaged in an in-depth evaluation session with Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, focusing on the meticulous provisioning of infrastructure at designated voting schools and clusters. A detailed scrutiny of booth management plans was also undertaken to streamline the operational aspects of the electoral process.
Furthermore, the Chief Electoral Officer personally inspected the signature campaign, selfie stand, and poster gallery erected under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program at the Collectorate premises, reaffirming the commitment towards fostering an inclusive and participatory democratic process.
The meeting witnessed the esteemed presence of several dignitaries, including SPNO AV Homkar, IG CRPF, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Jharkhand Neha Arora, DIG Campaign Inderjit Mahatha, and Divisional Commissioner Kolhan Division Hari Kumar Keshari, among others, underscoring the collaborative efforts aimed at ensuring the successful conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
