Ranchi, June 10: In the newly formed Modi Government 3.0, the division of cabinet portfolios has been announced, highlighting significant roles for representatives from Jharkhand. Annapurna Devi, re-elected as MP from the Koderma parliamentary seat on a BJP ticket, has been appointed as the Minister of Women and Child Development. This marks a promotion for Annapurna Devi, who previously served as Minister of State for Education in 2019. Her elevation to Cabinet Minister underscores her growing influence and the confidence placed in her leadership.

Sanjay Seth, also re-elected for a second term from the Ranchi parliamentary seat, has been assigned the role of Minister of State for Defence. His appointment further emphasizes Jharkhand’s prominent representation in the central government.

Reflecting on past appointments, it is noteworthy that in the previous government, Jharkhand also had two MPs in ministerial roles. Arjun Munda, MP from the Khunti parliamentary seat, was the Minister of Tribal Affairs and, at times, held additional responsibility for the Ministry of Agriculture. Annapurna Devi then served as the Minister of State for Education. This tradition continues with one Cabinet Minister and one Minister of State emerging from Jharkhand in the current administration, reaffirming the state’s significant presence in national politics.
