Jharkhand wins six medals at National Women Masters Athletics in Goa

Jamshedpur: Athletes from Jharkhand delivered an impressive performance at the 3rd National Women Masters Athletics Championship 2026 held at Bambolim Athletics Stadium in Goa on May 30 and 31, winning a total of six medals, including three silver and three bronze medals.

N. Lalita Rao, competing in the 50+ age category, emerged as one of the top performers for Jharkhand. She won a silver medal in the triple jump with a jump of 7.89 meters and secured another silver medal in the long jump event. She also added a bronze medal in the 100-meter race to her tally.

In the 35+ age category, Deepika Das Rai won a silver medal in hammer throw with a throw of 20.6 meters. Geeta Rani Hansda, participating in the 30+ age category, secured a bronze medal in the 800-meter race by clocking 3 minutes and 13 seconds. Panmoni Mundi won a bronze medal in the javelin throw event in the 55+ age category.

Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand President Vijay Singh and General Secretary S.K. Tomar congratulated all the medal winners and participants, saying the athletes brought pride to Jharkhand through their outstanding national-level performances.
